If youre one of the many notebook users who has multiple batteries, its important to change computer batteries every once in awhile. If a battery is left alone for extended periods, it will slowly discharge the power. The rate of speed that a battery discharges the power depends on the temperature of the environment theyre stored in. Hotter surroundings will increase the flow of ions and discharge the battery more rapidly than a cooler atmosphere would.Leaving a battery inactive for weeks or months could see the battery fully self-discharge.
